I am using and going to use more of the Blended Activities in the Curriculum Guide.  I have used the 10 minute “How to…” lesson plan after we discussed lesson planning strategies.  I am using more role play and scenarios in class during the classroom management section.  I used a debate on the discipline styles for the classroom and it was great.  I had them draw for which style (authoritarian, democratic, or permissive) and then gave them 10 minutes to write the pros and cons of each.  I had them explain each one then we went around and had them suggest a problem with one of the others and then they had to respond. It was heated and fun.  Then we summed it up at the end. I am also making better use of the website from the Reaching to Teach book for terms and activities such as surveys and journals.  If anyone has anyone has any other good suggestions on creative things they do in class, please post them.

This website has information to help students develop their skills when working with parents. It is designed for parent use but the students will benefit from the information. The case studies can help students explore the topics.

elem-quest-sp-05.docelem-quest-sp-05.doc This is a list of questions that will help the students prepare to go to their elementary schools. It is something I shared last summer at the FCS Professional Development Conference.  Feel free to use these materials.
