Restaurants and other eating and drinking businesses employ 11.6 million people in the United States. Nearly 30% of these employees are under 20 years of age. Many teens’ first work experience is in the restaurant industry. OSHA is providing this eTool to help youth working in the restaurant industry to be safe and healthy on the job.

Pick up the April issue of Accent West magazine in the Amarillo area and you will find the shining faces of Canyon and Randall High Schools Culinary Arts students and their prize-winning recipes for The Best Teen Chef contest, sponsored by The Art Institute and Food Network. Candace Slayton from Canyon High School was selected as a semi-finalist for the competition and will compete at the Art Institute in Dallas on April 17.
